“Showcase” social media is not sufficient for attracting new customers,
as 8 out of 10 surveyed consumers trust a company that has a website more than just a presence on social networks.
A recent study conducted by YouGov for Squarespace showed that 79% of respondents agree that a company with a well-designed website is more credible than a company that only has a “showcase” page on social networks.
Not necessarily, it depends entirely on the offering and the product.
As many as 59% of respondents added that they would be more likely to work with a company again that has a well-designed or easy-to-use website, compared to a company that does not.
44% of respondents said that a user-friendly and aesthetic website would encourage brand loyalty.
The research also reveals that the pace of consumption is increasing, as two-thirds (67%) of respondents admit they would make an online purchase within one week of discovering a product they want.
Of these, 10% would make the purchase almost immediately, while 18% would do so in less than one day.
Additionally, 70% of consumers now support small, independent businesses more than before the pandemic.
These businesses should carefully consider their online presence.
The Marketing Director at Squarespace stated:
“We found that the majority of respondents agree that a well-designed online presence is crucial for assessing a company’s credibility and influences their purchases.
“Therefore, it is important for creators and entrepreneurs who want to monetize to establish an online presence that truly represents their brand.”
